Hair Pins

I love shopping at Anthropologie to give my bedroom a makeover or to buy a flirty dress. Recently, I purchased some fun hair pins which would look great with a pony-tail or messy bun. Here are some pins I brought home with me.

Pearly Pins - These pins would dress up any work outfit
Sparkle Bobbies: I wore these in a messy low bun

Glitzy Aster: A perfect touch to soft waves

Coconut Oil

I never listened to my mom when I was teenager, but sometimes I wish I did. I started dying and bleaching my hair at a young age. We all go through those phases, but we fail to recognize what the consequences will be. I try to color my hair once every 3 months but I still notice that my hair is dry. Instead of using deep conditioner, I've noticed that Coconut Oil has been the best solution to getting my hair shiny and soft. Its pretty simple. Put a small amount (about a teaspoon) in your palm and rub through damp hair. Try to rub the oil at the end to help your split ends and a little to the middle part. The trick with coconut oil is to use enough so the oil will penetrate your hair. Try this once to twice a week, depending on the thickness of your hair.

Frederic Fekkai

He said it the best, "Wear your hair, its your most powerful accessory." I've always want to get my hair done at a high end salon. After doing a ton of research, I decided to schedule a cut and blowdry at the Frederic Fekkai Salon in Los Angeles, CA for next week. Haircuts start at $125 but if you go on Thursdays its FREE! Here are the details:

Day: Thursdays
Time: Appointments must be made from 5:30-6:30pm
Services: Check them out here or call to hear about their free services
Cost: Free

Now, Mr. Fekkai definitely wont be the one styling my hair but he does have assistants in each salon that I am sure are very experienced and talented. Stay tuned to see my final look next week.

Flowers

Hair is our best accessory, so it's always nice to add a special touch. The Cherry Blossom Girl seen here, added some fabric flowers to a thick thread and made her own headband. I love this romantic look, which can dress up any solid colored dress. Also, it's affordable and easy to put together.

YUKO

Summer is around the corner, and humidity can definitely change the look of hair in a heartbeat. A lot of women are trying out the Yuko Hair Straightening System. Imagine taking a shower and just letting your hair dry to perfection? Pretty convenient.

Quick Tip: Keeping up with the scent

I try to only wash my hair twice a week, so keeping up with that floral scent is sort of tough. Next time you take your daily shower and don't want to wash your hair, follow this easy tip to getting your hair always smelling nice.

- Spray your favorite perfume 3 times in your shower cap
- Cover hair and jump in the shower

The steam from the shower helps keep the scents of your hair together. Now your hair wont have a dirty odor from all the pollution!

Buns

Sometimes I wonder why I always wear my hair down. I love my long hair but its becoming a repetitive look. So I decided I'm going to try my hair up more to show off my neck and shoulders. One of the most popular hairstyles, and actually the easiest has to be the bun. This style can work with medium length hair to long, so it works out perfect for me! The bun style can be pulled off for any occasion; work, wedding, parties, or just hanging around the house. I have a few cocktail parties to attend this month, so here are some looks I'll be going for:

The messy high bun

The messy side bun

The glamour girl bun

Which bun would you wear?

Where I'm Headed

Winter is a tough time to make your hair look great. With the weather changing from cold to sunny constantly in L.A. I need to have my hair prepared. I've always loved headbands and got my inspiration from Mischa Barton. Not too long ago she teamed up with Stacy Lapidus and has designed various headbands that can liven up any outfit. From professional to an evening out, her headbands have helped make the simplest outfits stand out
